November 2006 Meeting Minutes
Hey guys,
This has to have been the fastest meeting ever. Congrats to Lindsay Kooiman as student of the month, and to Stephanie
Higgins for winning the dues drawing; both get borders gift cards. Everyone who hasn't paid dues should try and get that
done soon. It goes up after the semester, plus the gift cards are cool. There is a limit on the number of points you
can earn per event: max of three for a timed activity or two for food/item drives. Also, if you sign up for an activity
you are accountable to attend, or if you can't make it get someone to cover you. If you sign up and don't attend, the
first time is a warning, the second time you lose a point. Every time after that is also one point.
The iPod raffle is coming up; the meeting on the 30th is mandatory because this is when everyone gets their tickets to sell. The prizes range from the 30 GB iPod Video to gift cards for restaurants and businesses in the area. Start talkin it up with ur peeps (my gangsta talk for the day and my use of parentheses) [sic].
The assisted living home visit for this month is on the 20th, and we plan to be doing seasonal arts and crafts. Three to four people are wanted to sign up. Headed up by: Danny H. thehockeyplyr88 "at" yahoo.com.
School beautification is on the 17th for roughly an hour, picking up trash round the school and other activities. Headed up by: James S. jamesserbinski "at" gmail.com.
This Tuesday is the next tutoring visit at Margaret Brent. Roughly eight or so people needed. Headed up by: Kristen Olbeter docta10589 "at" hotmail.com.
Thanksgiving adopt-a-family is under way. The list of items is in Mrs. Easter's room for sign-up. Two items and a dollar equal a point or three cans and a dollar equals a point.
The borders gift wrapping is coming up: thanksgiving weekend, Dec. 2, 3, 9, 10, 17. Max shifts one person can sign up for is two (each shift is two hours) benefits go to support our Christmas adopt a family.
Teacher appreciation for December is two dozen homemade cookies equal one point; max six people bringing cookies sign up in Mrs. Easter's room. Headed up by: Brody rightyb07 "at" yahoo.com.
Parks and Rec. art extravaganza in January, three hour shifts (from 8-11, 11-2). If you are in the later shift, come a half-hour early to learn your craft.
And the student-of-the-month nominees are Brody, Katie W., Beau, and James S. announcement tomorrow as to the winner.
Finally, I will email the lists when I get copies of them. Sorry to the lax kids, but you were counted absent. Advisor mandate: I would've marked you present, but whatever. See ya'll at school (and that's my redneck for the day).
